Stinging, redness, swelling, peeling and temporary darkening can occur. Burns, infection, herpes reactivation, scarring and lasting pigment change are possible, particularly with deeper peels or unsuitable skin preparation.
Before and Aftercare
Disclose sun exposure, cold sores, scarring, pigment problems, pregnancy, medicines and recent retinoid or peel use. Follow the prescribed preparation and avoid tanning.
Do not pick peeling skin. Use the advised cleanser, moisturizer and high-protection sunscreen, and contact the clinic for severe pain, blistering, discharge or delayed healing.
Peeling commonly occurs over several days, with a fresher surface visible in about 1-3 weeks. Pigment and texture changes may continue to settle over longer.
